Ultra-High Band Admittance Tunnel (60 GHz – 125 GHz)

The MWI Ultra-High Band (UHB) Admittance Tunnel represents the cutting edge of millimeter-wave NDE. At frequencies exceeding 75 GHz, wavelengths are as small as 2.4mm, making the interaction between the material and the RF field extremely sensitive to the surrounding environment. This compact, ultra-stabilized tunnel provides the diffraction-limited environment required for precision complex permittivity extraction.

Wavelength-Driven Engineering

  • Antenna Integration: Mathematically mated to MWI’s highest frequency V-band and W-band antennas.
  • Compact Footprint: Because wavelengths are so small, the “Large Scale” requirements of lower frequencies are replaced by a need for extreme mechanical stability and ultra-smooth, precision-machined apertures.
  • Zero-Interference Zone: Designed to provide a “Free-Space” equivalent environment at the microscopic level, essential for automotive radar and 6G research.

Primary Utility

The premier choice for R&D in automotive radar (77-81 GHz), high-frequency semiconductor substrates, and specialized thin-film dielectric characterization.
