Software and Automation

MWI Software & Automation serves as the digital command center for our NDT platforms. We provide the critical synchronization between high-speed mechanical motion and precision RF measurement. By coordinating the timing between robotic translation and VNA triggers, MWI transforms individual instruments into a unified, high-throughput metrology solution.

Next-Generation Instrument Control

MWI specializes in the integration of modern, software-defined measurement hardware, ensuring that your software environment is as advanced as your sensors:

  • Keysight P-Series & Streamline Support: We offer native integration for the latest Keysight P50xx USB and M98xx PXI Series VNAs. These PC-controlled instruments allow us to reduce system footprints while maintaining the high dynamic range required for broadband material analysis.
  • Legacy Hardware Support: Our automation architecture remains compatible with industry-standard field and benchtop units, including the FieldFox, PNA, and ENA series, ensuring seamless upgrades for existing laboratories.
  • Motion Control (Vention Partnership): We utilize Vention MachineLogic to drive robotic gantries, ensuring sub-millimeter positioning is perfectly timed with the RF measurement “snapshot.”
  • Custom LabVIEW Programming: Our in-house LabVIEW experts develop bespoke GUIs and control sequences that automate complex tasks—such as multi-angle reflection mapping or volumetric sweeps—into a single-click operation.

Advanced Data Synchronization

The core of MWI’s automation value is Coordinated Timing.

  • High-Speed Triggering: We optimize the “handshake” between the VNA and the motion controller to allow for “on-the-fly” measurements, significantly reducing the time required to scan large-scale panels.
  • Real-Time Data Mapping: As the probes move, our software correlates every RF data point with a specific X-Y-Z coordinate, generating an immediate spatial “heat map” of the material’s Dk, Df, or Ohms/sq.

Primary Utility

The essential service for organizations moving to high-speed, software-defined production environments where data must be collected, processed, and archived at industrial speeds.
