VHF/UHF Reflection Loss Arch (50 MHz – 1.5 GHz)

The MWI VHF/UHF Reflection Arch is a heavy-duty measurement platform designed for characterizing the reflectivity and Radar Absorbing Material (RAM) performance of large-scale structural components. Because wavelengths at these frequencies reach up to 6 meters, the arch diameter must be significantly large to ensure the antennas remain in the “far-field” or “focused Gaussian zone” relative to the sample.

Wavelength-Driven Engineering

  • Arch Geometry: Engineered with a large radius to accommodate the physical size and beam-divergence of GBA-005-1s antennas.
  • Angular Precision: Automated or manual positioning along the arc allows for precise bistatic measurements (Angle of Incidence vs. Reflection).
  • Sample Support: Optimized for use with a wide-format Net Table, ensuring the sample is held perfectly at the arch’s focal point without interfering with the low-frequency field.

Primary Utility

Essential for the development and quality assurance of low-frequency stealth coatings and structural composites used in naval and large-scale aerospace applications.
